Slowly But Surely

Good thing dad is so patient!

Here is a time-lapse video that takes a picture every 2 seconds... and yes she got her purple sippy...but not before the battery life on the camera ended. :)

And a few random pics... She loves looking inside her fish tank- maybe because of the shiny paper inside

Grandpa Bassett's Birthday Dinner

After the parade, Claire got to meet some of my extended family...

She had fun playing with great-grandma's scarf,

being adored by my cousins,
and giggling with my Aunt Janet (who has almost as much energy as Claire)

Art City Days Parade

We got this bike carrier from some friends in our ward. It needed a few repairs...
Before picture:
It was easy enough to fix. I repaired the large hole and Jason removed all the rust. And ta da, it works great! So we biked to the parade...
'Wee'

Talking along the way...
She smiled all big, even though it was naptime.

Nestle 5K

Jason ran in the Nestle 5K and did awesome! He guessed it would take him 35 minutes to finish, and it only end up taking him...
And I even got so excited that I actually saw Jason and got to cheer him on, that I forgot to take the pic right away. Its funny, I was sitting on bottom row in the stands, bent over, feeding Claire rice cereal, thinking how am I gonna see Jason with this big rod in the way. Then amazingly enough, I saw a little grey shirt on the opposite side of the track and it was him!

7 months

Jason often has Claire pretend walk from place to place, and now she is taking steps on her own... Jason's 'Clairezilla' comment is very timely, as you will see.

(Luckily I caught it)

Claire says "mum" and "mama" alot this week!

Fun times with her ball

I finished a cute dress for Claire.
'Help mom, I fell and my legs went in opposite directions!'
A favorite pose of Claire- arms out to side :)

Claire's First Hike

We went for a hike up Spring Canyon. The beginning was a little tiring for my out of shape body, but after that it was mostly a gradual incline.

Claire even tried a few sips of water from the camelbak.

This was the only steep part of the hike. But only lasts for about 50 feet.

Memorial Weekend

We drove to Arizona to visit my parents and for Jason to present at a psychology conference. We were praying for cooler weather, due to the 100+ degree weather the week before we arrived, and because Claire gets heat rash really easily. Well we got what we were praying for... and a little more. Rain- in Arizona. This reminds me of a song lyric, "Be careful what you wish for, cuz you just might get it all, ...then some you don't want." Usually I like rain, but not when you are trying to drive through the night in a rain storm and get to enjoy the water pooling in the ruts and risk hydroplaning. But we made it there safe and sound... with some more prayers :)

Claire's first time in a swimming pool. It was overcast... but still lots of fun.

Claire got cold, so she hung out with grandma and grandpa.

More fun with grandma!
Day 2 of swimming- Claire was brave enough to try out her baby swim float.
She had fun lounging in her float and eating her book for a whole hour!
Family shot- all but Spence
She loved hanging out on grandpa's favorite chair. Notice how her leg is coming out her book.
Day 3 of swimming was even better. She sat up in her float and had lots of fun.
Hanging with Uncle Eric
Eating Grandma's floaties

Trying to grab grandma's glasses
Peek-a-boo with dad. At the end of the video she says, "dada"- which she was saying the whole week!

More giggles on the last day of swimming!

We had so much fun in Arizona! Thanks mom and dad for a great time!
