We went to AZ for a long 4th of July weekend. The drive down went as well as we had hoped. Claire even took a nap on the ride-wow! (We did wake her up at 5am). Soon after we got there we went swimming.
Claire was much more adventurous in my parents swimming pool. But even though we had to watch her like a hawk, especially the first day before she realized any consequences, of lets say jumping in the pool before mom and dad are ready, I am glad that she is willing to try new things and not as stubborn as some toddlers. The adventurous side was brought out when she realized that she could stand on the large step (about 4 feet long) in my parents pool, and she didn't need mom or dad to hold her.
The first day was full of lots of jumping in the pool. While I was showing Jason the pic below, Claire accidentally stepped off the large step and was completely under water for a second until dad swooped her up. Two seconds later, she was saying "up", meaning she wanted up to jump back in the pool. This was before my mom and dad and brother, Eric were in the pool. But thank goodness most of the time we had 5 adults there to watch her :)

Claire found some tomatoes from my parents garden and had a grand time playing with them

They would put the tomato up on the waterfall, then she had fun fishing it out of the water.

If you live in AZ you may be wondering how in most of these pics, their faces are in the shade. Well my brother, Eric made this great sun-shade that spans the whole pool. Usually this time of year, their pool water gets too hot to swim in, but with the sun-shade the pool water was cool and refreshing. Claire appreciated it so much, she had to touch the sun-shade, just to say thanks Uncle Eric!

Playing with Uncle Eric, whee

My younger brother, Spencer, got home on Saturday morning from hiking & camping in Havasupai. It was his first time meeting Claire, since returning home from his mission in February. Claire had fun teasing him, as shown below.
Hug then run away

Get close for a second, then run away

(left) Family Pic - Uncle Spencer had to leave the next day for work down in Tuscon (right) Claire instantly loved Uncle Brian's water bed

Claire loved the rocking horse! She was on it for about an hour, while the guys took turns rocking her. She also enjoyed rocking on her own.

Then cutie Claire was giving grandma the look, and I asked her, do you want to give grandma a kiss, yep she did! several!

We will end on this happy note for part 2 of the trip
